It’s getting very real: ZIMS for Studbooks is coming

At the end of February, seventeen association representatives from Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and Zoo Aquarium Association (ZAA) will gather at Species360’s headquarters in Minneapolis, MN for an intensive introduction to the new, eagerly awaited ZIMS for Studbooks. During the four-day workshop each attendee will not only be thoroughly acquainted with the new module, but will also be prepared to teach the software to the Studbook Keepers within their associations.

Here’s the best part: this workshop brings our members one step closer to migrating studbooks into ZIMS. As we’ve always done, Species360 will provide support in using the new module throughout the migration process and after, but the regional associations will take the lead in the order by which studbooks will be migrated into the system.

By launching ZIMS for Studbooks, Species360 will see a promise fulfilled: the module will not only replace Species360’s legacy application SPARKS (and other studbooks software) but will also join Husbandry and Medical modules. Of course our work won’t end there as our developers continue to make enhancements and improvements throughout ZIMS for Studbooks and in other areas of ZIMS.
