Our goal is to resolve 85 percent of these questions with the first response - and we once again vastly exceeded this goal by resolving 96 percent of over 620 questions with our first response.
There is a new look on the ZIMS login and desktop screens, featuring images by famed wildlife photographer Joel Sartore. As founder of the Photo Ark, a 25-year effort by National Geographic to photograph every species in human care around the globe, Joel is an increasingly more familiar face among conservationists and educators. He often visits zoos and aquariums as he photographs individual animals representing their species.
Congratulations to Erika Fronk on her 10th anniversary with Species360! As a Member Support Advocate, Erika directly supports more than 270 association and institutional members, including regional associations World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), Zoo and Aquarium Association - Australasia (ZAA), and more. In 2021, Erika handled nearly 1,800 questions and help requests from our members.
Welcome to Joris Verbruggen, who joins Species360 as a Member Support Representative. Joris brings a wealth of experience from Species360 member institution AAP (Animal Advocacy and Protection), where he worked as an outplacement coordinator to permanently re-home rescued animals to zoological institutions. Joris has ZIMS experience and a strong network of zoo and sanctuary relationships in Europe and beyond. He lives near Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
We are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Species360 Member Support Representative Michele Moses as a caring and ZIMS-rock-star resource for our members - especially focusing on those in Europe and Latin America. Michele has handled over 12,000 issues on behalf of members, provided more than 17,000 translations for ZIMS, and talked with hundreds of institutional and association members – what a decade!!!
The Species360 Member Support and Training team provides assistance every day throughout the year, covering holidays to meet the needs of our members in over 100 countries. In August and September, the team exceeded its performance metrics - again resolving over 90 percent of questions and issues in the first response (goal 85 percent) and with nearly perfect (4.8 out of 5) satisfaction ratings. Congrats team!
We are celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Species360 Member Advocate Kim Larson as a key member of our team.
We are delighted to announce that Frands Carlsen has joined our Species360 Member Support and Training team as a Member Advocate. In this role, Frands will work directly with member institutions, helping them to achieve their animal care and collection management goals with ZIMS for Husbandry, ZIMS for Medical, and ZIMS for Studbooks.

As zoo and aquarium staff worked from home due to COVID-19 closures, Species360 Member Support responded to record numbers of incoming calls, resolving 97 percent of inquiries, and earning a 4.9 (out of 5) satisfaction rating from members.
