Research Scientist

Dr. Lionel Jouvet has experiences in academic and commercial institutions and has worked with various techniques in the field of biology. As a researcher, he questioned the tools and problematic he encountered, which enabled him to develop new investigation methods such as flow cytometry, image analysis, and microfluidics. Dr. Johanna Stärk is a PostDoc Researcher and part of the Species360 Science team working at the Max-Planck Odense Center on the Biodemography of Aging and the Department of Biology at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). She has a Master in Neurobiology and Behavior, where she studied the social networks of captive gorilla populations and became interested in zoo conservation biology.…

Rita da Silva is a Ph.D. student and part of the Species360 Science team working at the Max-Planck Odense Center on the Biodemography of Aging and the Department of Biology at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). She has a master degree in Environmental Biology from SDU and an undergraduate degree from the University of Porto, Portugal in Aquatic Sciences.

Andrew Mooney

PhD student

Andrew Mooney is a Ph.D. student and part of the Species360 Science team working at the Department of Zoology in the School of Natural Sciences at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), the University of Dublin, Ireland. He has an undergraduate degree from Trinity College Dublin in Zoology.

During his undergraduate research project, he investigated animal behaviour in relation to human-wildlife conflict in agricultural systems.…

Peter Donlon

Director of Global Membership Development

Peter works with aquariums, zoos, conservation groups, partners and other organizations worldwide to grow the Species360 community through new member development and communications. He joined Species360 in 2012 and brings over 25 years of executive leadership to member-focused organizations.

Nate Flesness

Science Director Emeritus

As co-founder of Species360 in 1979, Nate served as Executive Director and then Science Director until 2016. Today Nate continues to participate in Species360 development initiatives and special programs, including growing the impact of critical data and insights on behalf of conservation efforts worldwide.

Jim Guenter

CEO

Jim has led Species360 since 2015. Before joining our organization, he served in technology leadership roles for major US corporations including Target.com, Best Buy, and Accenture.  Jim also served 5 years in the US Army.

Elisabeth Hunt

Director of Member Support and Training

Elisabeth oversees member support and training for Species360, and is responsible for what has become a highly regarded team of industry experts that work side-by-side with members to help them achieve their goals. Elisabeth began her career at Binder Park Zoo in Michigan, USA, where she worked for thirteen years before moving to Minnesota and joining Species360 in 2002.

Keith Olson

Director of Finance

Keith oversees finance and accounting operations for Species360. Before joining Species360 in 2016, Keith served in non-profit financial leadership positions with Children’s Cancer Research Fund, DARTS, and Twin Cities PBS.

Doug Verduzco

Chief Information Officer

Doug leads the product, technology and development teams at Species360.  He is responsible for performance, security, infrastructure and solutions that support the member community, including the suite of ZIMS solutions used by aquariums and zoological institutions worldwide. Doug directs research and development initiatives, introducing new features and functionality in an Agile Technology environment. Doug has served in many different roles for ZIMS, going back to 2001.  …
